Vintage RC - bit crazy electric conversion of 1/8 scale chassis "My Way!"

What will happened, if low KV (578 rpm per volt) airplane "brushed" motor will be placed in 1/8 scale RC car?? I had this idea for longer time. Now, when I've got all needed components together, so why not to try it?! Motor is Graupner Ultra 3300-7 with Robbe 890 ESC and on 6S Li-Ion battery. I made a lot of different custom parts, like engine mount, difefrent gears to compansate lack of rpms, ...
Machining of really small three and six cylinder crankshafts.....

It's something that I've done few years back already to test what's possible to machine on non CNC machines just as a idea from scratch..... They are as real ones, so oil passages are drilled from main pins to conrod ones.
Hydro & Marine Xzess II Evo - RC Outrigger - Onboard video
Переглядів 912 місяці тому
The weight of camera not helping much, but it's pretty stable now. With two blade TFL 45/1,8 prop I'm able to go flat out around easily. Three blade is much faster, but I'm not sure that I can hold it at full speed trough the corner.....
Hydro & Marine Xzess II Evo - RC Outrigger - Testing of new rudder and some props

Rudder bracket is now shorter, so rudder is now moved more to the front and away from turbulences caused by propeller. Steering is more precise and boat more controllable now.

Vintage RC - home build 1/8 scale onroad cars - driving and onboard videos

From the start of the video it's a 2WD car that I build myself in the middle of the 90's, with Škoda 130 RS body. At 2:08 starts second car, with March BMW M1 group 5 body. It's a 4WD chassis build by someone in 80's or even in 90's. I don't have any more info about.
Kyosho EP Caliber M24 - Vintage RC helicopter - with LED 🔴🟢⚪ lights. One of a kind?! 🤔
Переглядів 4813 місяці тому
It was a lot of work, because this helicopter is pretty damn small and LED system was ment to be put on much bigger airplane or helicopter. But anyway.... I managed to make super lightweight custom LED holders from 0,6 mm aluminium (landing and side lights) and from small plastic tubes (for rear strobo lights and front blinking red one). Cable to the rear red blinking one going trough the tail ...

Vintage RC - Custom build 4WD on road car - what's under the body?🤔
Awesome performance, very cool!
Thanks! 😉
looks full scale
nice set up and running boat angle- your set up is perfect nice job Im going to do one also
Thanks, it was a lot of work! As I like to stayed "vintage"....so that speed is achieved with brushed Plettenberg motor and 18 round cells....
Very cool!
What set up brushed? Brushless?
Brushed (Speed 700) on 18 round cells.
Look's really impressive 😊. How much power will the ultra achieve on 6s? Looking forward to see it running.
As you can see, gearing is about two times faster then with original 3,5 cc engine. And on original rubber tyres it's spining all four wheels if you are using too much throtthle too early. It have like 300-400 grams more then original, but acceleration and torque of the engine is really impressive! I have a lot of experience, but this one is quite scary!
Tengo uno igual, con el empezó todo. No sabes que alegría me da verlo, gracias! Cuidate ;)
Exciting racer!!! Awesome onboard view. Your rescue looks nice as well, good to calm down again after running the rigger 😀😀
Yes, always good to release "pressure" after driving rigger, as it could be pretty stressful😅
Good to see a Gallop in action and kudos for running it since they are a bit pricy and rare 👍
I like to use all my RC stuff 👍 But , I'm typically not racing and driving very hard..... So running on nice grass even with little bit of jumping and so on is what I like in case 1/10 scale buggies. And that flipping wasn't planned at all 😳😂
very nice!
Pity about the crap painting .
Yes, painting isn't my strongest discipline. But it's painted for driving, not for concours d'elegance😉
Nice cars!
Recently subscribed love seeing the vintage boats uo and running
I like all kinds of vintage RC stuff. It's not the easiest way, but I'm preferring to use period correct "technology" and still have reasonable speed, driveability and so on 😉
@@czkarting I am installing newer go fast motors and hardware into the old hulls
Krása. Byl by dobrý záběr položit kameru na dno a projet nad ní ;-)
To je v plánu 👍
Tohle příště vezmi do Hory, uděláme slou-mou 🙂
Awesome onboard view and beautiful landscape. Very nice!
Thanks 👍 Interesting look, isn't it 😉
👍Funny little one😊 six pack? how many voltage
Six round cells, 1,2 volt each. So Its 7,2 volt battery. But voltage drop under the load is huge. You are lucky to have a bit over 6 volts under the load. Engine can take 7 cells, which is 8,4 volts. But will overheat probably. Like this I can run complete battery flat out and it's warmer, but not hot.
@@czkarting so you can't use a 2s lipo because of the esc ?
Yes, sure I can. But I like to use period correct setup and still have a good speed and driveability😉
Beuthyful day,and a beuthyful vintage boat😊
How is it geared up? that's what i want to know.
You have very cool vintage RC cars, thanks for sharing. 👏👍
Thanks 😉
Keep em coming! Giving me lots to look up and learn about
Love it!!! I had one and for the year it was definitely fast!
Bit underrated I suppose, but actually going really nice! Just the rear steering makes it a bit whacky to drive....
Really awesome models 👍👍👍
Beautiful model, but a bit slow, as if it was working with a very rich mixture. Sounds a bit like 1/10
👍
40 MHz 😆 👍 I have an Sig biplane that’s still on crystals.
Nice look my page and the Hopf InXS
Great work!! That's spectacular
Awesome, what kit is that??
Thanks! It was not a kit. I bought it as incomplete "homemade" car and made all missing parts myself. Somebody started to build this car in early 80's, but never finished it.
Dass die mal pleite gehen hätten die sich auch nie gedacht
Ten pohled dozadu z paluby člunu je super 🙂
Great clip and awesome onboard view.
Max 32 A and 22wp nice for the little one I use in the past a power analizer 200A
Its just peak of the current at the start, during the driving it will be around 20 amps . But even with the small prop with 1,4 pitch it's going good.
That's! Katolg i have @ That's Time & meny more. Graupner it's closed orady , eany Body oud there Ho know That's?.
That's! 🍊 Carger & That's 2 Volt Name: Bleiakku i have @ That's time + no Body wahnt too' know.
I have! That's be'vore & remember the Pictures.
Awesome planes back then, still good really.. 4-stroke motor are great still.
I had this one too!
I had this catalogue when I was young, thanks for the memories!
👍 This one is from the time that I started the RC hobby.
Cool, den hatte ich auch! Tip, erzähl während dem Video, welche Modell sind besonders, liefen lange, Preise.... Glaube dann wird das interessanter.... 👍
Yes, that could be cool, but my ability in English is not so perfect to make a proper comentary to the video. And also, I'm not pro. Just uploading videos about my hobbies😉
Thanks for sharing this beautyfull impression. I like the vintage models and motors a lot. Although the majority of my motors are nitro engines (OS, Webra, Rossi, and many ofthers) I have some vintage high performance electric motors back from the late 80s (brushed of course 😊) like from Keller, Plettenberg or Graupner Ultra, which are really awesome. Happy new year and all the best for 2024!
I stopped my RC hobby in mid or late 90's due to other commitments, like cars, bikes and karting. But started again in covid period three years back. And need to say it's stronger even than before! But I just followed up where I stopped in 90's.......so still not using nitro in my cars, just normal FAI fuel. And in case of electro versions of anything RC.....motors with brushes and oldschool cells. Just in helicopter and fast outrigger boat I'm using Lithium Ion batteries. No lipos thoug..... And the 27, 35 and 40 Mhz radios for sure too!
Happy New Year! you to vintage boy😊
Thanks! Yes, I'm slowly start to be vintage too 🙈 But all my RC stuff is vintage for sure 😉
@@czkarting A pleasure to watch always 😊
Like me, you need a check list, just don’t forget to bring your check list like me 🤣 I think I have incurred each of those trials and tribulations at one point or another in the past 25 years. Keep up the good work my friend.
Hi bro,where get this hull?
It's standard Kyosho hull, made from ABS. It were produced around mid 90's.
@@czkarting Wow, it’s well preserved.
But I have 200cc
How get this hull bro?
My 1st and only Tamiya from back in the day (probably got it in 87). In my mind and with nostalgia, it's in the 2nd best looking Tamiya 4WD (difficult to beat the Avante to be honest 😅) Same as JoevsRC, can't wait for the ReRe (even if I have one original already) 😊 🤝
I started hobby in 1990-91, so out od this period. But I like these 80's and 90's buggies a lot😊
Nice video. I feel like being back in the late 1980s when I started this wonderful hobby, mainly with equipment from Graupner and Webra at that time. Please share more if available...
Hi, thanks. No I don't have any more, not from 80's as well. As I just start the hobby in 1990-91 and in that time we lived still partly in "shade" of Iron curtain with all consequences.....
That is one unique looking Rc buggy. thanks for sharing run.
